Public comments are being accepted for MD Infant & Toddlers proposals

The Maryland Infants and Toddlers Program of the Maryland State Department of Education is proposing revisions to the Annual State Application under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The proposed revisions include:

 

  • The amended policies and procedures for the Extended IFSP Option including a change in the age range for participation and clarification of transition procedures for children with disabilities and their families;
  • A statewide template for local Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) policies and procedures; and
  • A Memorandum of Understanding between the Maryland State Department of Education and the Maryland Head Start Association.

They are also available for review at the offices of the Local Infants and Toddlers Programs or at the Maryland State Department of Education.

 

Public written comment will be collected from September 12, 2011 through October 11, 2011.

Comments must be received by the Maryland Infants and Toddlers Program no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011.

 

There will be a public hearing on October 4, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Maryland State Department of Education, 200 West Baltimore Street, 9th Floor Conference Room, Baltimore, Maryland 21201-2595.
